Help Desk - Buying

How do I look for items I wish to buy?
The easiest way is to use the quick search or detailed search machine at the top of every page. You can browse by category (Theatre, Cinema, Music, Opera and so on) or search for something specific (such as a specific actor, play or book title, date or theatre). Whichever you choose, it's quick and simple!

When your search is displayed, all the relevant items are listed with a brief description, condition and price. If you want to purchase, click the "Buy" button for the item. The item will then be added to your shopping basket. Clicking the item code will show full details of the item. For most items, there is a thumbnail picture.

Before paying, you can then look for other items that you may wish to buy.

How do I pay?
Purchases on CollectorsPost.com have to be made by credit card. Checks (cheques) and money orders are not accepted. CollectorsPost.com is an international trading place and the cashing of any other form of payment is prohibitively expensive and time-consuming.
Are my credit-card details safe?
Yes, they are. If you are buying, your credit-card information will be encrypted and sent by secure server to our on-line bank, WorldPay. We do not disclose or retain credit card information.

Access to any personal information held by CollectorsPost.com is password protected. Only you can view or modify information listed about your purchases.

How do I know the condition of an item?
We make an accurate assessment of the condition of each item that we sell. These are the terms we use when stating the condition of an item:
  • MINT - as originally issued, as good as new.
  • FINE - appears to be new but closer inspection reveals a few signs of aging.
  • VERY GOOD - small but obvious signs of wear and/or aging.
  • GOOD - complete but with obvious flaws (that are specified in the description).
No item are offered for sale that are not complete or have major imperfections.
My credit card was rejected. What can I do?
Credit cards are normally rejected because either the information you have given is incorrect or the issuing bank has refused permission to make a payment. If you wish to continue with your order, there are three things you can do:
  1. Check that you have the correct details on your credit card and then try again - sometimes our online bank cannot connect with the issuing bank of your credit card. This rarely happens but may occasionally happen during a weekend.
  2. If your credit card is again rejected, contact the issuing bank and ask why this has happened.
  3. If neither of these works, try another credit card.
